Father Of Jacob Blake Says He Is Now Paralyzed From The Waist Down After Being Shot Several Times By Wisconsin Police

TSR Updatez: Jacob Blake was shot several times by Wisconsin police officers on Sunday, as he went to open his car door. As we previously reported, Ben Crump confirmed that Jacob is indeed alive, and his father has revealed that he is paralyzed from the waste down.

According to BBC News, Jacob Blake Sr. spoke with the Chicago Sun Times and said his son had “eight holes” in his body. After undergoing surgery, he says his son is now paralyzed, and doctors are unsure whether or not it is permanent.

“I want to put my hand on my son’s cheek and kiss him on his forehead, and then I’ll be OK,” he said to the newspaper. “I’ll kiss him with my mask. The first thing I want to do is touch my son.”

Wisconsin Governor, Tony Evers, spoke out about the incident as protests began to erupt across the city. He expressed his support to the Blake family, and says the officer’s choice to use excessive force on Jacob is unacceptable.

“While we do not have all of the details yet, what we know for certain is that he is not the first Black man or person to have been shot or injured or mercilessly killed at the hands of individuals in law enforcement in our state or our country,” he says. “We stand against excessive use of force and immediate escalation when engaging with Black Wisconsinites.”
