Could there be drama on the forefront ahead of Monday’s much-anticipated “Verzuz” battle between Jagged Edge and 112?
It sure looks like it. Former 112 members Daron and Q Parker both posted messages to their personal pages letting fans know that they will not be joining their former bandmates in an epic battle, which we exclusively reported, against Jagged Edge on Memorial Day due to an unsettled legal issue.
While Daron and Q didn’t go into specifics about what the issue is, it’s clear that there may be some underlying beef with their former group members.
The band actually broke up back in 2018 after reuniting briefly to kick off Diddy’s Bad Boy reunion tour. It looks like then, the group members split up, with Q and Daron leaving the group.
And apparently, this wasn’t the first time. They reunited after nearly a decade-long hiatus but that reunion was short-lived and it looks like things never quite returned to how they used to be.
Still, Slim and Mike continued to tour as 112 with two new band members.
Despite the past drama, fans were hopeful that Daron and Q would return to participate in Monday’s battle but sadly they confirmed that it’s a no-go.
“Dear 112 Fans, Thank you for the outpouring (of) love and support. It is incredible and we appreciate how much of your heart and souls you have poured into our careers,” Daron’s message said. “We are simply blown away by the passio you have for our music. But unfortunately we will not be participating in the upcoming Verzuz with Jagged Edge due to an ongoing legal issue that is not settled.”
He finished off his note to fans with the following, “P.S. From our mouth to your hearts, Q and I never quit 112 nor our fans. This is a fabricated lie and it is not our narrative. In due time, you will receive the true narrative. Until then, we love you and thank you again for your continued support.”
We hope the fellas can work it out this time for the sake of R&B fans everywhere.
