Back in 2017, Lotte won Miss Teenager Universe title as she became well known internationally.
Lotte was on a ski trip in Westendorf, Austria with her family when she suffered a heart attack. A couple of days later, Lotte’s parents went on to her social media and shared that the reason she’d been absent a couple of days was because of the heart attack she suffered while they were on vacation.

According to Lotte’s Instagram, her parents, #BertVanDerZee and #EugeniekVanHetHul, stated “Lotte started to feel unwell throughout the course of the afternoon. A feeling that swiftly escalated in sudden cardiac arrest.” For the first couple of days she was in a coma, and under intensive supervision of the doctors.
On March 1st, her parents gave her followers an update on her Instagram. They said that the situation was unchanged, she was still in a coma and under intensive supervision.
On March 6th, they made another post to break the devastating news to her followers that she had passed away. Her parents stated “Our dearly beloved Lotte is not around us anymore. Our hearts are truly broken.”
According to @enews, she passed away just one day before her 20th birthday. Since the passing of their daughter, they have received heartwarming messages from all over the world.
