Another day, another black man is having to defend / explain his comments after being accused of “racial slurs” for celebrating his African-ness.
On #TheDailyShow, #TrevorNoah celebrated France’s #WorldCup win by celebrating the African players on the French team and joking that “Africa won the World Cup.” If you’re familiar with Trevor, then you’re familiar that he is South African—and if you’re a football fan, then you’re familiar with players on the French team being of African descent.
Since then, some have dubbed Trevor’s comments as ‘racist’ and the French Ambassador to the U.S., Gerard Araud, even wrote him a letter pretty much saying ‘nah boo, our team is French. Go somewhere with them African comments.’ What’s your take on Trevor’s comments #Roommates?
