Gabourey Sidibe Says Brandon Is Her Rider
Her man, her man, her MAN! Sidibe knows all about her hubby’s clapback energy, especially in his Instagram comment section. About a week ago, Gabourey Sidibe addressed the topic on the white carpet of the 2025 ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards. The event took place at the Fairmont Century Plaza on February 27.
Gabby pulled up wearing a bright blue silk gown with a v-cut neckline. Although her hubby seemingly did not attend the awards, she still gave Brandon Frankel his due flowers on the carpet. After a PEOPLE interviewer stated that he “doesn’t play” about his wife, Gabby agreed.
“And I deserve every bit of it, okay, Sidibe said. “Let somebody step on my dress; he will be here,” she added.
Gabby added that Brandon’s online energy matches how he handles trolls in real life. It’s Gabourey Sidibe over everyone, including his granny.
“…I have to be careful about telling him that somebody gave me an attitude ’cause he’ll write them off forever. He’ll beef with his grandma about me. And I deserve it, and I love him so much,h and I would beef with a lot of people for him, too,” Gabourey Sidibe shared.
Gabby Explains “Radical Love” With Hubby
Gabourey Sidibe and her man got married in 2021. He proposed in November 2020 after a dating app link-up that went well! While speaking on the ESSENCE white carpet last week, Gabby emphasized the idea of “radical love.”
“What I realized [about radical love] is that I liked who I was when I was with him. I liked the ways that I got to grow through loving him and being loved by him. I did not know that the person that I am today existed. And she only exists because of how much he loves me,” Gabby shared.
Brandon Frankel LOVES Him Some Gabby & Their Twins
Aside from clocking trolls, Brandon Frankel also regularly praises his wife and their twins on social media. In June 2024, the couple exclusively shared the first public look at their twins, son Cooper and daughter Maya, with The Shade Room. That same month, Brandon was nonstop showing his lady all the love on the ‘gram.
“My three favorite people all in one picture. You are Super Woman, @gabby3shabby – I love you all so much it hurts. I am constantly amazed that you formed these beautiful people for nine whole months and they couldn’t be more perfect,” he wrote in a June 19 post.
That energy hasn’t stopped. Frankel’s entire IG feed is of him enjoying his family of four. Most recently, on Sunday (March 2), he shared a carousel post of Gabby wrangling their twins for cozy home photos. In the caption, he praised her beauty.
“Either way, how gorgeous is my wife?? She can go out and do her thang and come right home and immediately back into being Mama. So grateful for you three- you light up my entire world so bright,” he wrote, adding three red heart emojis.
