Last week it was announced that Mekhi Phifer, Lance Gross, Laz Alonso and Lil Rel Howery were added to the cast of BET’s new mini-series “The Bobby Brown Story.”

Now we all know in order to tell the story of Bobby Brown, the late Whitney Houston has to be a part of it.

Now the network has revealed who will play Whitney in the upcoming project.

According to Deadline, actress Gabrielle Dennis has been cast for the role of Whitney Houston in the series. Viewers may be familiar with Dennis from the Fox show “Rosewood,” and also the BET show “The Game.”

On Monday Dennis took to social media to express her excitement and said, “Huge thanks to Robbi Reed who saw something in me and put me in the mix for this ICONIC role and thanks to all who had a hand in this decision…praying I do her justice.”

As previously reported Woody McClain will reprise his role of Bobby Brown following the success of the 2017 “The New Edition Story.” Production for the mini-series is scheduled to begin in Atlanta next week.
