Last month, Georgia authorities received a call reporting an in-progress burglary at GloRilla‘s home in Forsyth County. However, the ordeal took a surprising turn with Glo being placed behind bars. What happened, and why did Forsyth County officers turn the focus on the rapper?

More Details On The Burglary Report At GloRilla’s Home
According to Carter, a woman called the authorities, noting that she was locking herself in a closet at the rapper’s home. The woman reportedly heard suspicious activity coming from the home’s garage, indicating trespassers were attempting to enter the residence. Shots were fired, and the intruders reportedly escaped unharmed.
Instead of information arising about the trespassers, authorities reportedly attempted to obtain information about the rapper and the items in her home. Glo was taken into police custody after authorities reportedly discovered more than 3 pounds of marijuana in her bedroom closet. The rapper was charged with felony possession.
“Under the state of Georgia guidelines, it’s a felony — it becomes a felony when you have marijuana over an ounce,” Atlanta-based attorney Jeremy J.R. Robinson explained to Carter. “… However, if you call the police to come to your home to do a search because you believe it’s being burglarized, if you give them access to your home, they’re supposed to be there to help get rid of the criminal act — not criminalizing you.”
More Details On The Rapper’s Arrest
Per Robinson, the police exercised lawful entry into GloRilla’s home, but, he says, “it’s not as if the marijuana was lying out on the table and they saw it.” Instead, Robinson believes the cops “took things too far.”
