Law enforcement had pulled up to her Georgia house for an attempted burglary. Instead, while investigating, they discovered marijuana and charged the homeowner, Ms. Gloria Hallelujah Woods. The rapper’s viral mugshot resulted from her turning herself in, but she’s since been released. Let’s get into the details, chile!

What Led To GloRilla’s Charges?
According to WSB-TV, deputies from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call about a home burglary. The call came in at about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday (July 19), but it’s unclear who made it. At the scene, investigators observed that the homeowner, GloRilla, was absent. Three suspects had entered her home, and someone inside reportedly fired a few shots at them, causing them to run off. At this time, officers don’t think the suspects were injured, but have not said whether they’ve been identified or found. The rapper’s lawyers told TMZ the burglars stole jewelry. Police reportedly used K-9 teams and a drone unit to search the area.
While at GloRilla’s home, the responding officers allegedly noted the smell of weed, summoned a drug task force, and executed a search warrant. TMZ notes that they found “a significant amount of marijuana” that was “in plain view” in the master bedroom closet. It’s unclear who was home during their visit. Again, Glo was not home.

Ultimately, the discovery got her charged with possession of marijuana over one ounce and possession of a scheduled controlled substance. As for the decision to charge Glo, Sheriff Ron Freeman said:
“The homeowner is a victim of a serious crime, and we are committed to bringing the suspects to justice,” he said. “At the same time, we must continue to uphold and enforce the law in all aspects of this case.”
GloRilla turned herself into the Forsyth County Jail on Tuesday (July 22) in response to the possession charges. However, cops released her shortly afterward on a $22,260 bond. The photo shows Glo rocking a wavy, side-parted hairstyle and a gray, zip jacket. It’s unclear what will happen next in her case, or when she’s due back in court.
Rapper’s Lawyers Slam Her Charges & Arrest
As mentioned, Forsyth County Sheriff Freeman has already said that GloRilla is both a victim and a perpetrator of a crime. Now, her lawyers, Marissa Goldberg and Drew Findling, are saying that the sheriff’s office overstepped following the 911 call.
“The arrest of Gloria Woods is a disturbing window into how warped law enforcement priorities have become. Ms. Woods was out of town when her residence became a target for a group of home invaders who most likely knew she wasn’t there. What they didn’t know was that she had family staying with her that were traumatized by the violent entrance of this group who grabbed high-value jewelry before taking off once they realized the home wasn’t vacant,” a statement to TMZ Hip Hop said.
Additionally, the statement credited the family for doing “the right thing” and calling the police. However, it called out the police for pivoting from the reason they were called to charging Gloria, despite her absence at the home scene.
“Law enforcement then sought arrest warrants for her even though she hadn’t been at her home for some time. No arrest warrants have been issued for the violent home invaders. Ms. Woods is a victim, not a suspect. This is our tax dollars at work, absolutely unbelievable.”
GloRilla Pops OFF About The Incident, Calls It “Crazy” (UPDATE)
GloRilla finally broke her silence just hours after her lawyers slammed the arrest and charges, and her mugshot went viral. She took to X, formerly Twitter, to deliver the message. Like her lawyers, she highlighted the circumstances of the charges and reiterated that she was not home when the incident happened. Glo also seemingly suggested that the police have yet to catch the suspects who burglarized her home.
“CRAZY‼️ My House got Home Invaded Saturday. While I was in Indianapolis performing for the WNBA all star game & instead of Focusing on finding the Suspects , they focus on some cannabis,” GloRilla wrote. “1. So no I wasn’t busted 2. My house got robbed 3. I wasn’t home.”
She summarized by writing, “Long story short my house gets home invaded and Im the only one that gets arrested. So that’s tea🤷🏼♀️.” Within an hour of posting, GloRilla’s tweet had more than 400 replies, nearly 3,000 retweets, and 17,000 likes.
This is the rapper’s second run-in with law enforcement in Georgia in the last year. In April 2024, body cam footage went viral showing Glo speaking to cops ahead of a DUI arrest. She had been pulled over for allegedly making an illegal U-turn at the red light. After a few field tests, police took her into custody, and she was charged with DUI and traffic violations, but later released on a $1,956 bond.
