Whew! The internet is cutting up after a jail phone call between Young Thug and his girlfriend, Mariah The Scientist, leaked and lets just say, GloRillas name got thrown in the mix. While the two rappers arent known to have any previous beef, Thuggers words had the innanet side-eyeing him hard. And yes, Glo definitely caught wind of it and didnt hold back.
On Thursday, an audio clip began circulating online of Young Thug talking to Mariah from behind bars.In the call, Thug brought up Memphis rapper GloRilla and made somewild comments about her looks.Listen to the audio clip here.
The clip quickly went viral, with fans calling Thug out for being unnecessarily harsh. Additionally, not long after the alleged leak, GloRilla seemingly addressed the shade with a slick post on him allegedly having a whole different energy in her DMs.
The ‘Yeah Glo!’ rapper took to X, writing:
“Mind you dis da same ni**a blowing my phone up to ask what color my eyes is lmaooo”
Now, it looks like Young Thug is tryna clean it up! Shortly after the audio went viral, the rapper took to X to issue an apology to GloRilla fortrashing her looks. Thugger claimed he doesnt actually think Glo is ugly and chalked it up to being in a dark place when the convo went down.
“[GloRilla] first of all Im sorry to u for my words and I honestly dont think ur ugly at all, I was speaking from jail just having a hard time with life.. I dont like bashing girls and hardly ever did.. Im sorry to u twin”
Social media wasted no time lighting Young Thug up in The Shade Room comment section after the audio leaked. And baby, the consensus is loud and clear they aint here for it. Some folks are telling Mariah to gather her lab equipment and exit stage left. Meanwhile, others are convinced Thugs comments stem from GloRilla possibly curving him in the past. A few even joked that hes officially entered his Wendy Williams era, sipping tea and throwing shade from jail.
One Instagram user @liyyminajj said, “He got rejected & his egos hurt so now hes badmouthing & tryna belittle her to Mariah so Mariah can feel better about herself.“
This Instagram user @flavapfever added, “Boi was so bored in jail he turned into Wendy williams ”
And, Instagram user @blasianncece_ wrote, “Any time a ni**a talking down on another female to you its because he either wanted her before and got dubbed OR he used to fw her and still want her.“
Meanwhile, Instagram user @winnie.daboo commented, “Young Thug has SOME NERVE, and thats ALL Im gonna say about that. ”
While, Instagram user @adorenuniii added, “Mariah its time to stand up honey! ”
Then, Instagram user @lordself shared, “Thug was on his stomach with his feet in the air on that call“
Lastly, Instagram user @pinktoesandhairbows said, “You could tell by the convo that he was trying to convince Mariah he wasn’t interested just in case it got back to her that he actually was”
Young Thug took to social media on Wednesday to lightly address the chaos surrounding those alleged jail calls that keep leaking online. And, while he hasn’t confirmed if the audio is real, he definitely seemed to hint that hes seen the backlash. Thugger made it clear he feels like all this narrative pushing is tearing the rap game apart, IF the calls are legit. And yall, the tea in those recordings? Piping.
In one clip, he reportedly breaks down why he feels betrayed by Gunna over that YSL plea deal specifically accusing him of labeling YSL a gang and allegedly helping build the RICO case. But thats not all Thug also had a few choice words for rappers who think theyre too elite to collaborate. And, fans are convinced he was taking shots at none other than Kendrick Lamar, by allegedly calling him out for not showing love on Thug’s ‘Business Is Business’ album. Not the jail phone turning into a whole diss track, chile!
