Good Morning America anchor T.J. Holmes joked about giving his now-estranged wife “plenty of reasons, excuses and opportunities” to leave their marriage prior to his alleged affair with co-host Amy Robach.
A Facebook post from March 2020, where Holmes wrote a tenth anniversary tribute to his wife, immigration lawyer Marilee Fiebig, has since gone viral amid the news of his illicit workplace tryst, as reported by The Shade Room yesterday.

“10 years ago, Marilee Fiebig married me,” the former CNN anchor, 45, captioned throwback wedding photos. “And despite my best efforts, she remained married to me the past 10 years.”
He continued: “That’s not hyperbole. I’m not being dramatic. I gave her plenty of reasons, excuses, and opportunities to walk her fine a** out the doooooooor.”
In the post, Holmes, who shares 9-year-old daughter, Sabine, with Fiebig, also praised her “built-in black woman superpower” in showing him “grace and patience that’s incomprehensible.”

Holmes added that “asking her for another 10 years would be asking too much,” calling 10 months “a stretch” and 10 weeks “lucky.”
He then referred to himself as Fiebig’s “decade challenge” before concluding “if she puts up with me another 10 days, I’d be grateful.”
The daytime Emmy nominee married Fiebeg back in March 2010, three years after divorcing his ex-wife Amy Ferson, who shares son Jaiden and daughter Brianna with Holmes.

The couple reportedly split back in August, alongside Robach and her husband Andrew Shue, months before their workplace relationship came to light this week.
Fans of the show had long questioned the nature of the co-hosts’ relationship, as they two appeared to be awfully close on-air.
Both Holmes and Robach have since deleted their Instagram accounts in the wake of the scandal.Meanwhile, social media users reacted to the throwback post on Thursday, with one calling it “disturbing on so many levels.”
“It comes off very much like, ‘tried to get rid of her many times but she just won’t take the hint,’” another wrote.
The married “Good Morning America” co-anchors reportedly engaged in a months-long affair together, with both apparently leaving their partners in wake of the scandal.
On Wednesday, Page Six confirmed that their romance started in March, just around the time the two began training together for the New York City half-marathon.
In August, they allegedly both left their respective spouses after being spotted “canoodling” in bars near ABC News headquarters in May, a source told the outlet.
GMA Co-Anchors Went To Extreme Lengths To Hide Affair, Staffer Says
The couple went to extreme lengths to hide their affair, according to one staffer. They both joined GMA’s third hour back in 2020.
“They have a very cozy relationship on air, but that is what is expected. But they were very careful behind the scenes to keep their affair secret. The producers at ‘GMA’ are shocked to hear they are having an affair.”
More recent photos obtained by the Daily Mail show the two holding hands and cozying up around the city and upstate New York.
And just two weeks before Thanksgiving, the GMA co-hosts reportedly went on a trip to a remote cottage, where Holmes could be seen grabbing Robach’s butt while she leaned over the truck of a car, photos show.

The outlet also reported that GMA staff were “buzzing about the intimacy between them” while the two were in England for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee earlier this summer.
Robach, 49, has since restricted comments on her Instagram, as astute fans spotted her without her wedding ring in newer photos, alongside a lack of recent pictures with her husband, Andrew Shue.
Robach split with her husband in August, the same month Holmes, 45, and his wife went their separate ways, insiders told the Daily Mail.
The two even went out on double dates with their now-former significant others, and also ran in the NYC half marathon together in March.
