Bad Bunny Is Announced As Halftime Performer For Upcoming Apple Music Super Bowl LX

According to PEOPLE, the NFL shared the decision with the world on Sunday, September 28. Furthermore, the announcement was reportedly made during the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers face-off. To note, just moments before this, the NFL and Apple Music appeared to tease fans with a cryptic social media post shared on Instagram.

Then, once the announcement was live, the organization, alongside Bad Bunny, followed up with a more official promotional clip.

Check it out below.

Per the outlet, Super Bowl LX is scheduled to take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday, February 8.

“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL,” Bad Bunny reportedly said in a statement.

Social Media Reacts To The Halftime Performer Announcement

Additionally, social media users slid into TSR’s comment section with reactions to Bad Bunny being announced as Super Bowl LX’s halftime performer.

Instagram user @baileyskinner1 wrote, “I can already see the posts from conservative Facebook “why have someone who isn’t even from America sing at the half time show???” 😂”
While Instagram user @yepp_imdula added, “I hope the whole show is in Spanish!!!”
Instagram user @kelsiestampleyworld wrote, “This is going to be the most viewed halftime performance ever.”
While Instagram user @iheartanicole added, “The bigger picture is that last year was Kendrick, this year is Benito…both artists are advocates for social justice. (Whether you like them or not) Based on the climate of this country, I say these have been great choices.”

Instagram user @candypaynt wrote, “The Latinos Deserve this Half Time 🙌 now I’ll be gathering my plate during the performance but I’m happy for them.”

While Instagram user @kyyyraaa._ added, “First halftime show I ain’t gon know not one song … whoopty doo😒”
Instagram user @_.mieyah wrote, “I don’t listen to Bad Bunny but he has a HUGE fan base; so I’m sure it’s gonna be good❤️”

While Instagram user @chriswilliamsii added, “This couldn’t have come at a better time lol. My brown brothers and sisters need this during a time when the country is racially divided”

Instagram user @_jklg_ wrote, “I hope not a single lyric is in English!!…”

Before Bad Bunny Was Announced For Apple Music Super Bowl LX, Lil Wayne & Kendrick Lamar Were At The Center Of Attention

Before Bad Bunny was announced as the halftime performer for the upcoming Apple Music Super Bowl LX, Lil Wayne and Kendrick were at the center of the event’s headlines. As The Shade Room previously reported, Kendrick Lamar was announced as the halftime performer for 2025’s Super Bowl LIX. Furthermore, the announcement was shared in September 2024.

Additionally, it was shared that the game would be held in Louisiana. Immediately, reactions surfaced from celebrities and, most specifically, Lil Wayne’s manager. Fabian Marasciullo appeared to hint at his and Wayne’s disappointment at the NFL’s decision, per The Shade Room.

“Confused. Disappointed. Angry. But most of all inspired. Will never again be in a position or have the [goat emoticon] in a position where we are at the mercy of someone else’s decision. We will make the decisions,” he wrote on social media at the time.

Ultimately, Wayne reacted to the decision himself. And, he shared why he wouldn’t attend the show.
