According to reports, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge awarded Martinez primary custody following a multi-day closed hearing, rejecting Berry’s request to reinstate their previous 50/50 shared custody arrangement. Olivier Martinez’s Restraining Order Request Against Halle Berry Denied
In a separate development, Halle Berry scored a legal win on Thursday, October 29, after a Los Angeles judge denied Olivier Martinez’s request for a permanent domestic violence restraining order against her and dissolved the temporary order, per Us Weekly. Following the hearing, Berry’s attorney, Marina Beck, said they were “extremely pleased” with the decision and emphasized that the actress remains focused on her family’s well-being.
An eyewitness also told the outlet that Berry appeared “ecstatic” after the ruling, with the Oscar winner seen smiling and embracing her fiancé, Van Hunt, outside the courtroom. However, a source familiar with the proceedings clarified that Thursday’s hearing was not a custody hearing, and the temporary custody arrangements established under the restraining order remain in place for now, pending a future hearing.
Halle Berry’s Instagram Seemingly Shares Cryptic Quote Amid Custody Battle
Did Halle Berry throw a little shade amid her ongoing custody drama with Olivier Martinez? ‘Cause the actress’ Instagram Story raised eyebrows Monday night after a cryptic quote. The post read, “If kids disrespect their mom, the root cause often traces back to their relationship with the father.” However, before folks could run with the message as a possible subliminal aimed at Martinez, sources close to Berry told TMZ that the actress did not make the post and that they’re investigating how it ended up on her account.
What Exactly Is All Of This About?
As previously reported, Martinez had alleged that Maceo sent him text messages claiming that Berry abused him while he was playing a virtual reality game. He also reportedly accused Berry of displaying hostility toward him in the past. Berry denied the allegations, maintaining in court papers that she has never physically, emotionally, or otherwise abused their son. “I have never physically, emotionally, or otherwise abused Maceo,” Berry stated in her court filing. She also emphasized her work supporting victims of domestic violence, adding that she would never harm their child.
