Halle Berry is facing a new development in her custody battle with ex-husband Olivier Martinez, and this time, their private text messages are coming to light. The former couples latest dispute centers around their 12-year-old son, Maceo. And, Martinez is making serious allegations against Berry.
The court filing also included a series of alleged text messages between Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez following the alleged Sept. 26 incident. According to the filing, Martinez told Berry that Maceo had asked to be picked up early and asked if she was okay with the change. Berry allegedly responded, No Im not ok with it. He wants to fight his mother?? What kind of kid are we raising. She continued, As a father ask him what kind of kid is he, before adding, Im his mother?
Martinez reportedly replied that he wasnt aware of what was happening but alleged that Berry and Maceo frequently fight. Berry then responded, So u keep him at ur place? even if he [doesnt want to] stay? She went on to say, Im his mother and this is wrong! He had no respect for his mother and this should not be ok for you as his father!!! Berry continued, He is disrespectful to me and feels I have no say on anything thing, before saying, Im just money bags! This is wrong and wrong!
In another text allegedly sent on Sept. 27, Berry reportedly reached out to Martinez about speaking with Maceo. Olivier, Ive reached out to Maceo and asked to speak with him. I know you very much think he makes his own decisions but I would really appreciate it if you would encourage him to speak with me today, she wrote. Berry continued, I feel terrible about what happened last night as I know he does as well.
Berrys attorney, Marina Beck, has denied the allegations, calling Martinezs filing entirely meritless and deliberately misleading. Meanwhile, Martinezs attorney, Patrick Baghdaserians said his clients paramount concern is Maceos health, welfare, and safety, adding that Martinez is focused on protecting their son.
As previously reported, Halle Berry and Olivier Martinezs custody dispute has taken another turn. A judge has reportedly granted Martinez temporary custody of the former couples 12-year-old son, Maceo, following his allegations that Berry choked the child during a Sept. 26 incident, temporarily changing their previous 50/50 custody arrangement. Under the new order, Berry will reportedly have daytime visits with Maceo twice a week and every other weekend, while she has also been ordered to remain at least 100 yards away from Martinez. The former couple is scheduled to return to court on Oct. 16.
