We live in a world where everybody has become one with their phones! For some of us, it’s a low-key addiction, but that is why Chick-fil-a has started rolling out a new feature for their restaurants! In an attempt to make family bonding cool again, they are offering free ice cream cones for those who can get through their meals without doin’ it for the ‘Gram!
Brad Williams, operator of two Chick-fil-A locations in Atlanta told TODAY, “The point is to get people to talk to each other instead of texting or scrolling through social media.” He continued, “…it’s interesting to walk through the dining room and see the evolution, the change from having a conversation to nowadays, when there’s just this disconnect.”
Here are the rules:
1.) Everyone must place their phones into the designated box.
2.) Enjoy your meal distraction-free!
3.) Tell the cashier that your technology-free meal was a success and you’ll get a free ice dream cone!
More restaurants will be offering the challenge in the coming weeks!
