Jayanna Henderson is speaking out following the tragic loss of her newborn daughter, Jaylanie. According to Henderson, after she gave birth, her daughter was tended to by officials between two hospitals in Philadelphia. Over time, she noticed the infant developing burns and rashes.
To make matters worse, Henderson even alleges that the medical staff gave the infant narcotics and other substances without authorization. The mother believes the substances killed her baby.
What really happened? Could it have been prevented, and will hospitals be held accountable?

More Details About Jayanna Henderson’s Baby Girl, Jaylanie
According to Carter, Jaylanie was born with no health issues at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on March 5, 2025. However, four days later, the infant had developed a swollen face and limbs. Today, Henderson believes her baby girl’s decline at the hospital was deliberately caused.
“I pushed her [out] in 12 minutes — no stitches, no tears. She came out, she was crying — her dad cut the umbilical cord,” Henderson recalled to Carter.
In the days that followed, the mother’s dream turned into a nightmare. A delivery nurse reportedly told Henderson that Jaylanie’s heart rate had become elevated. Per Henderson, a pediatrician then inserted an instrument comparable to a catheter down the infant’s throat while she was unmedicated.
“She [Jaylanie] felt it,” Henderson told Carter. “And when she did that, the baby was crying, and she [the nurse] suctioned up blood.”
The Mother Speaks Out Amid Her Search For Justice Following Jaylanie’s Tragic Passing
At that point, medical staff rushed into the room. But, according to Henderson, no one informed her of what was happening. Hours later, Henderson was informed that her daughter needed to be transferred to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Once Henderson saw her daughter again, she noticed a large burn on the side of her face. Additionally, the mother ultimately discovered that her daughter was given unauthorized substances such as fentanyl, morphine, and ketamine during her stay in the hospital. Ultimately, Henderson was told that her daughter experienced organ failure and had no brain activity. By March 9, Henderson was allegedly told the hospital needed to take the infant off life support.
