Ice Cube Confirms He Lost $9 Million Role Over COVID-19 Vaccine

Ice Cube is coming forward and speaking on how he put his beliefs ahead of a multimillion-dollar movie role.

During his recent appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, Ice Cube broke his silence on past rumors regarding his departure from Oh Hell No, a movie he was set to star in alongside Jack Black.

The “Until We Rich” rapper initially acknowledged the matter, which began circulating online last October, by seemingly confirming it.

“I turned down a movie because I didn’t want to get the motherf***ing jab.”

He proceeded to confirm that the role would’ve put an extra $9 million in his pocket. Of course, Ice Cube also had to go on a little tirade about the coronavirus vaccine, as well as Hollywood.

“I turned down $9 million. I didn’t want get the jab. F**k that jab, and f**k y’all for trying to make me get it. I don’t know how Hollywood feels about me right now…They on some s**t.”

Regarding his comments about Hollywood, we should note that his ire could possibly come from the fact that the industry allowed producers to implement on-set vaccine mandates, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ice Cube Reveals He Was Actually Kicked From The Film

In spite of these comments, Ice Cube went on to clarify that he didn’t exactly decline the role. Instead, higher-ups made the decision for the West Coast icon, as he wouldn’t follow the mandate by getting “the jab.”

“I didn’t turn it down. Those motherf***ers didn’t give it to me because I wouldn’t get the shot. I didn’t turn it down. They just wouldn’t give it to me. The COVID shot, the jab…I didn’t need it. I didn’t catch that s**t at all. Nothing. F**k them. I didn’t need that s**t.

Kyrie Irving Faced A Similar Decision

Of course, we have to mention that Ice Cube isn’t alone in missing out on opportunities over the COVID-19 vaccine.

Earlier this year, Brooklyn Nets athlete Kyrie Irving revealed that he gave up a 4-year contract that was worth over $100 million in order to remain unvaccinated, ESPN reports.

“I gave up four years, 100-and-something million deciding to be unvaccinated and that was the decision.”

Aside from Ice Cube and Kyrie, plenty of other celebrities found themselves in a similar boat. Rockmond Dunbar exited 9-1-1 after refusing the vaccine, and a similar case is true for Steve Burton of General Hospital.

What are your thoughts on Ice Cube’s revelation about his Oh Hell No role?
