If it’s one thing Ice-T is going to do, its defends his family. Earlier this week, his wife Coco Austin revealed in an interview with US Weekly that she still breastfeeds their five-year-old daughter Chanel and everyone had a mix of opinions online. Coco told US Weekly, “Chanel still likes my boobs. It’s a big bonding moment for a mother and your child.” Although it wasn’t the first time she talked about it, everyone had something to say. Today T took the time to clap back at commenters on Twitter. The rapper and actor started by explaining that breastmilk wasn’t the only nourishment that Chanel receives.
“News Flash! We feed Chanel FOOD… She just likes to suck mom’s boob every now and then… Me Too!!!” T continued, “News Flash! I’m still Breastfeeding! Every chance I can….” T continued to clap back after a Twitter user tweeted, “1. That’s sexual and gross. 2. A five-year-old shouldn’t still be breastfeeding. Way to make it weird, guy.” T responded and said, “Why the F are you worried about MY child? That’s was weird… Now go back in the basement.”
Over 10,000 Roommates commented on T’s response. One Roommate said the rapper should have worded his tweets better. However, one Roommate did shed light on the topic of breastfeeding. “It’s fu***ng normal. You actually lactate until your child is 4 -6.” According to Better Health, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) recommends women to breastfeed their child for a longer duration of 2 or more years due to the health benefits.
WHO recommends moms should breastfeed for 6 months exclusively and continue for “up to 2 years and beyond.”
