Iggy Azalea Announces Pivot From Music To THIS Career Field

Gon’ Head Girl! Iggy Azalea Announces Pivot From Music To THIS Career Field

It looks like Iggy Azalea is moving away from music and towards her true passions. The ‘Fancy’ singer announced her pivot on X (formerly Twitter) on Jan. 3.

Iggy shared that she no longer plans to drop her fourth studio album. Instead, she’s decided to shelf it for what seemed like a permanent time. For context, Azalea reportedly released her last album, ‘The End of an Era’ in August 2021.

Iggy Azalea Says She Wasn’t “Bullied Away From Music”

Her lengthy X post highlighted her new direction and apologized to fans disappointed by the tossed project. She began the announcement by warning that X users should “only bother reading if [they] love [her.]”

And if you’re a ‘hater’ and still choose to read the post, per Iggy, “you’re a weirdo.”

“I’ve always been someone who finds my joy in being creative & seeing my ideas come to life. For a long time, I used music to deliver my big crazy ideas to the world. I know a lot of people have this idea that I was “bullied away from music,” and that’s something I’ve always laughed at because I’d never be bullied out of anything! In fact, I’m too stubborn. I think I’ve even resisted changes within myself at times, purely because I don’t like being viewed as someone who quits.”

Iggy mentioned the “bullied away from music” part because innanet users often shared mixed reactions to the rapper’s musical aspirations. Instead, folks have primarily encouraged the blonde beauty to take her talents (and 5’10 height) to the modeling scene.

Still, some of the critiques have taken a personal tone, with folks even coming for her son — which she shares with Playboy Carti.

Then, T.I. fueled distaste for the rapper’s career in October 2019 after he called signing her to his Grand Hustle label a “blunder.” She responded to her former mentor, alleging his list of blunders is already long enough with her.

Later that same month, Iggy Azalea took to X to respond to Tip again after he claimed she “switched up” for white fans. Speaking on the Breakfast Club, T.I. said:

“I feel like she was meant to be great. As far as I’m concerned, I feel like when she found out white people liked her and she didn’t really need Black people to like her anymore, she switched up, started acting different, made moves that I wasn’t proud of that kind of placed my reputation in the line of fire. And she was very arrogant about it.”

Iggy didn’t hold back in her clapback. She alleged that T.I.’s only contribution to her musical success happened with the track ‘100.’ Iggy added, “Thank you for that, but you were NOT a part of the creative OR executive process on that album, which is why I’ve always taken issue with you trying to approximate yourself with its success.”
She then encouraged the Atlanta icon to “move on and speak about artist [he was], hopefully, actually helping” rather than name-drop her “for relevance.”

Iggy Reveals Her Next Career Move

After clarifying her album wasn’t “bullied” into the ‘toss’ pile, she explained what career she’s headed into next.

“In truth, what I’ve known for a long time is that I feel more passionately about design and creative direction than I do about songwriting. To many of you, that’s no shock to read. It shows in my work. Haha! Jokes aside, I do spend a lot more time on that part of things… because I’m most confident at that.”

Iggy Azalea also shared that she will ” not finish” her album.

“That’s why I want to let you know that I’m not going to finish my album. It’s been paused for a few months while I was giving direction for a different project & in truth, I just haven’t felt the urge to go back to it. I feel really happy & passionate in my day-to-day life when my mind focused on that, and so I want to stick to what’s undeniably best for me.”

Iggy said she “can’t wait” to share some of her new projects. As for her fans, she said she’s “sorry to let [them] down” but added that “it’s more important [she doesn’t] let [herself] down.”
