Whew! Six years ago, Fergie gagged NBA fans with her not-so-amazing performance of the National Anthem. Now, country singer Ingrid Andress is claiming her spot on the worst anthem performances list — if you let the innanet tell it!
Andress took center field on Monday night (July 15) at Major League Baseball’s Home Run Derby. While her mic was definitely on, her notes and pitch for the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ sounded off.
As expected, folks online didn’t spare any feelings while chatting about the performance—hence the Fergie comparisons! Even baseball player Alec Bohm was tussling with his facial expressions, seemingly forcing back a smile.

Ingrid Andress Reacts To Her National Anthem Performance
As the internet continued to go ham on Ingrid, she took to social media to clarify her performance. She admitted to being “drunk” while on the mic and apologized to fans, MLB fans, and event attendees.
“I’m not gonna bullsh*t y’all; I was drunk last night. I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need,” Ingrid wrote. “That was not me last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition. I’ll let y’all know it’s super fun.”

For context, Ingrid is the voice behind the hit songs ‘Wishful Drinking’ and ‘More Hearts Than Mine.’ She’s been nominated for four GRAMMYs, including for both songs mentioned above in the ‘Best Country Duo/Group Performance’ and “Best Country Song” categories, respectively.
Ahead of performing at the Home Run Derby, Ingrid spent time promoting her upcoming single ‘Colorado 9’ on social media.

At what point do we as a country decide that we will just play the recording of Whitney Houston’s iconic version of the National Anthem at every sporting event? #HomeRunDerby pic.twitter.com/3gea3tnECM

In October, Flavor Flav also had social media users riled up after singing the national anthem at an NBA game.
Flav belted the lyrics from center court at a Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks game on the 29th of that month. Like Ingrid Andress, he didn’t WOW the audience with his vocal talents, but he did give the innanet a memorable kikiiii, chile!
