Well ladies, Lawrence is about to be officially off the market! It appears that double congratulations are in order for Insecure star Jay Ellis, as he is reportedly set to marry his longtime girlfriend—and they’re also expecting their first child.
Jay and Serbian actress/model Nina Senicar have been dating since 2015, just before he became a fan favorite on the HBO hit series Insecure and inspired the heavily devoted #LawrenceHive. In a recent interview with Serbian magazine Story, Senicar reportedly revealed that she and Jay are planning to get married in Italy.
The 33-year-old bride-to-be was about four months pregnant at the time the interview took place in the magazine’s June issue. The couple’s first child is said to be due this fall, and she is on the cover rocking what appears to be a small baby bump.
The pair have a very low-key relationship, likely due to the past criticism they received when some Insecure fans were less than positive about their interracial romance. This caused Jay to defend his relationship during an appearance on The Breakfast Club back in 2017.
At the time he said:
“I am in a relationship. I’m in a very happy relationship and that’s where I leave it. I don’t really worry about anything else and that’s it. I think for me, we give so much of ourselves in what we do no matter what side of the industry we’re on so for me…a relationship for me is probably the most important thing that I think two people can have.”
We want to say congrats to the happy couple on their double blessing! As for season four of Insecure? Well, series creator Issa Rae and her team are currently back in the writer’s room, so hopefully the show will return in the first half of 2020.
