No Actors Of Color Won Awards During 2026 Primetime Emmys
According to Variety, the 78th Emmy Awards highlighted actors who “came from outside an underrepresented community.” Specifically, the outlet reports that 17 actors of color were nominated for awards this year. However, this was a 39% decline from the 28 actors of color nominated last year. Furthermore, the outlet notes that the most actors of color ever nominated were 49 back in 2021.
To note, Variety reports that Ernest Harden Jr. and Octavia Spencer were given acting or voice-over awards earlier in this year’s Emmy cycle.
