A fan tweeted an excerpt from #IssaRaes book Misadventures Of Awkward Black Girl and zoomed in on a part where Issa discussed how Asian men are overburdened with racial stereotypes which seemingly causes Asian women to date outside of their race more often.
In the excerpt, Issa suggested that since black men seem to date outside of their race more oftendue to a multitude of stereotypes being projected onto black womenthat black women and Asian men should join forces. She believes that there could be harmony there.
This is why I propose that Black women and Asian men join forces in love, mariage, and procreation. Educated Black women what better intellectual match for you than an Asian man? Issa writes. The gag is that this book came out three years ago, however, that doesnt mean it still cant spark dialogue like it has.
In fact, this passage has everyone on Twitter in their feelings even though Issa was definitely being satirical! On the one hand black women see no issue with what was said, because of a black man had said it, then… well, yall know how that goes!
