J. Cole Says He Was “Blown Away” The First Time He Heard BIA’s ‘London’

BIA made quite the impression on J. Cole! He gave her all the flowers in a recent post about their song London.

It’s BIA BIA!

BIA’s name and sound isn’t just the talk, she’s the leading rapper with features from some of the industry’s greats. We’re talking co-signs from Queen Nicki Minaj with her ‘Whole Lotta Money (Remix) and the elusive Cole! Hours before the release of the music video to London, she expressed her own wonder at her recent collaborations. She also shouted out Russ for their 2019 hit ‘Best On Earth.’

“Bro, I went to the actual studio, and got in the actual booth and rapped with RUSS, NICKI, and COLE!!! That’s f**king legend,” she tweeted. “I’m shook with myself honestly.”

Now, J. Cole confirmed equal excitement for their new track. He took to Instagram with a rare paragraph post filled with insight into how London came to be. Cole started by admitting he didn’t want to share the posted one-minute clip of their music video. In his words, “everybody need to hear this sh*t PURE.” Then, he told the story of how he first came across the song.

Flowers For BIA

“I Asked BIA to come through the studio for some whole other sh*t. First time meeting her. We chop it up. She plays me this new song she had just did,” J. Cole wrote in his caption. Mannnnnnn in that moment I was blown away.”

“I thought about this song for a month straight, it was my favorite song and I only heard it one time. She hit me recently and sent me the song (she musta knew I wanted to hear it again!!!) and I was just grateful to have it in my possession.

Roommates, when it comes to Cole, the compliments will be poetic. C’mon BIA BIA and London.

He continued, “When the thought and conversation came up about me adding a verse, I was excited but genuinely nervous cuz I didn’t even see how the song could be better after what she did to it. I didn’t want to f*ck nothing up! I’m grateful I Ended up catching the right wave.”

“Thank you BIA for having me on this record with you, love this sh*t and love your energy and spirit,” Cole wrote.
