#Roommates, he’s already made a name for himself within the hip hop world—and now Jack Harlow is set to take his talents to the big screen. It was just confirmed that Jack Harlow will make his feature film debut in the reboot of the classic 90s basketball film ‘White Men Can’t Jump.’
Apparently, Jack Harlow’s audition was such a success that he landed his first ever acting role in an upcoming reboot to one of the most popular movies of the 90s. @Deadline exclusively reports, in a script written by ‘Black-ish’ creator Kenya Barris and also produced through his Ink Society production company, Jack Harlow will take on the role originally played by Woody Harrelson.
If you’re wondering how Jack secured the lead role with absolutely no prior acting experience, well according to insiders, his screen audition reportedly blew the filmmakers away, especially Kenya Barris. As for his hooping skills that will be a factor in the film, he previously demonstrated during this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend Celebrity Game that he can hold his own on the court.
In case you need a refresher, the original ‘White Men Can’t Jump’ starred Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson as two basketball street hustlers who initially attempt to scam each other—but decide to team up together for the ultimate hustle and increased financial gain. As of now, the role played by Snipes has not yet been cast, but now that Jack Harlow is firmly attached to the film, Barris is on the hunt to find a young actor to take on Snipes’ role and start production on the film quickly.
