Details On How Jamal White Was Located
According to the Milwaukee Police Department’s Sensitive Crimes Division, Jamal White was found safe just under 24 hours after he was reported critically missing. An unnamed, 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the case, and authorities say criminal charges are being referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office. Additionally, Jamal’s aunt told 12 News that four masked men, all armed, were behind the terrifying abduction. She revealed that Jamal’s dad was close by when it happened—they had just returned from a nearby park when the men swooped in. Over the weekend, a white Jeep Renegade became a major focus after police said that it was the vehicle used to take Jamal.
News outlets rapidly shared doorbell camera footage from the neighborhood that appeared to show Jamal riding his bike, and moments later, a white car circling back in his direction. Off-camera, the clip captured faint screams, sending chills through the community and sparking even more concern.
But on Saturday, the family’s desperate search turned into a joyful reunion, with dozens of community members cheering after Jamal’s safe return. His cousin, Nikki Herrington, told FOX6 News:
“We haven’t been able to eat, we haven’t been able to sleep. We’ve been crying off and on,” said Nikki. She added, “He’s home, he’s safe, and whatever happened, we’re glad that he’s here and he’s alive. Because it’s very rare that you get an outcome like this.”
Additionally, Jamal’s other cousin, Raven Jackson, revealed:
“It’s a lot. I almost had an anxiety attack, my heart’s still racing,” said Raven. “He looked like he was scared, but he was OK. It looked like he was happy to see us.”
