James Harden says he wasn’t trying to make a political statement when he wore a mask that seemingly had a ‘Blue Lives Matter’ flag printed on it.
He apparently didn’t know what the mask represented and ESPN’s Tim MacMahon reports that James said he wore the mask because “It was just something that covered my whole beard. I thought it looked cool. That was it.”

The Houston Rockets tweeted a photo of James wearing the mask with the caption “mask up”, which prompted people on the innanetss, including Trey Songz to call James out for his “certified clown sh*t”.
Young Thug and Meek Mill are among some celebs who spoke up in defense of James Harden’s mask that some felt represented the ‘Blue Lives Matter’ flag.
James Harden has spoken out in support of the Black Lives Matter movement including how Houston showed up and showed out to honor George Floyd.
