Jania Meshell, the mother of one of NBA YoungBoy’s children, is defending her decision to cut their son’s hair after people questioned his gender.
Jania Meshell addressed comments on her son, Kacey’s new look during an Instagram Live.
She explained that she cut his braids because both of them were tired of people mistaking him for a girl.
“People act like they don’t know the difference between a girl and a boy. Just because someone has hair, that doesn’t make them a girl,” Jania said during the livestream.
The influencer added that Kacey’s constant worry about what people would say prompted her to step in, helping him feel more comfortable with himself in public.
Jania Meshell also shared that the decision has boosted Kacey’s confidence.
“Kacey is not upset about it. Kacey has a whole new confidence. Y’all, he just feels so confident now. And you can tell by his demeanor, he’s happy,” Jania stated.
The Roommates quickly reacted to Jania’s statement under The Shade Room’s Instagram report, defending her decision and saying she didn’t owe anyone an explanation about her choice.
