Singer Jason Derulo just helped out a college student in a major way. In a video recently shared via TikTok, the student, who also works as a waiter, revealed that Derulo graciously tipped him $5,000.
The College Student Took To TikTok To Thank Jason Derulo
A TikTok user by the handle @jordanschaffer2 took to the platform on Tuesday to share a video message highlighting Derulo’s generosity. In the video, the waiter explained that Derulo tipped him $5,000 at Charleston Restaurant in Ohama, Nebraska.
The TikTok also includes a clip of the man’s stunned reaction. He can be heard telling Derulo, and his guests, that his heart was beating extremely fast. In the next clip, Derulo responded by saying his experience at the restaurant was “really awesome.”
Later in the TikTok video, the man spoke directly to the singer. He explained that Derulo’s $5,000 tip will actually cover one semester of his college tuition. Additionally, the waiter added that he “can’t say thank you enough.”
As the video came to a close, the man held the receipt up to his camera so viewers could see the proof for themselves.

The waiter also shared a brief caption with the TikTok.

On Wednesday, Jason Derulo took to TikTok to share a video of himself watching the waiter’s TikTok.
The singer also captioned the post.

Derulo took to Instagram on Thursday to share the video there as well.
Additionally, Derulo went back to the waiter’s original TikTok video and shared a few more uplifting words with him there.
“You seem like a great person. Thank you for taking such great care of our fam. Keep spreading the love bro.”
The waiter responded by explaining that the singer’s generosity will stick with him for the rest of his life.
“Thanks man I’ll be telling this crazy story the rest of my life.”

Social media users also shared their reactions to Jason Derulo’s generosity. One TikTok user even recalled when a similar experience with the singer happened to him.
