It’s always dope to see Jay-Z and Alicia Keys link up to perform their hit single “Empire State of Mind” but this time the two of them will be teaming up for something completely different.
It was recently announced that both Jay and Alicia are two of the four keynote speakers for Harvard’s Business School’s African American Student Union Conference. The conference goes down next year on February 5th to 7th. The event focuses on highlighting black businesses, useful networking events, TED talks and panel discussions.
This years conference theme is being called, “Transcend: Redefining Expectations”. Their mission is to “aim to celebrate African-American achievements, inspire many new milestones, and provide a forum for attendees to take on issues facing our community such as: What is the African-American business community’s response to social injustice? Where do African-Americans fit in to the ever expanding definition of diversity?”
Earlier this year Harvard awarded Nas with the W.E.B Dubois Medal, which goes to show that the hip-hop culture definitely puts positivity back into our communities.
