Jeannie Mai Says Breastfeeding Has Been “Even More Difficult Than Giving Birth” For Her

Jeannie Mai has been doing this mommy thing for about two months now and not only is she killing it, she has been opening up about her personal journey through motherhood with the world.

Mrs. Jenkins has not been holding back about her most rewarding moments and the most discouraging, and she recently shared her experience with breastfeeding on Instagram. It’s a topic that not many mothers speak on, but Jeannie Mai talked about her recent struggles with producing breast milk for her baby girl Monaco. She even said the process has been more difficult than giving birth.

“Hands down, it’s been the most difficult part of this entire mom journey,” Jeannie wrote under a few photos of her pumping milk. “I already HEARD it was gonna be, but I never imagined this. For me, it was even more difficult than giving birth.”

Jeannie detailed her personal breastfeeding process, which includes a cycle of pumping, feeding her baby girl, and taking pills and supplements to aid in milk production. She revealed that the strenuous process led her to a dark place mentally.

“And two months later, I STILL don’t make enough milk to feed my baby. I had to catch myself because it’s actually got to my mental, and things started to feel dark,” Mai continued. “Comparing myself to other moms, frustrated from the ups and downs of pumping an ounce one day, nothing the next…and this is ON TOP of all the anxiety this journey can bring.”

Jeannie ended the personal account giving props to all of the moms out there who are overcoming the everyday struggles they don’t get to share with the world.

As we previously reported, Jeannie Mai and Jeezy welcomed their baby girl Monaco back in January.
