Jeannie Mai Shares Heartwarming Moment With Monaco Jenkins
Over the weekend, Mai took to her Instagram account to share a clip that showed her daughter seated on her lap. Furthermore, Monaco’s hands were placed on Mai’s cheek.
“It happened last night. After a long day of school visits, park time, and juggling work, Coco and I finally sat down for dinner. I hadn’t realized until then that it was my first real meal of the day. I didn’t see it coming.
Coco turned toward me—she placed her palms on my cheeks and brought my eyes to hers. Very slowly, very deliberately, she whispered into me: You are incredible. You are worthy. You are my dream (“dweem” 😭) come true,” Mai wrote in the caption of the post.
Ultimately, Jeannie Mai revealed that Monaco “pressed a kiss” to her cheek and forehead, then surprised her by saying, “I love you… my daughter.”
“and something ancient in me cracked open. Because these are the words I’ve given her since she was a week old—but guys, only when she was sleeping. Some nights I barely breathed them above a whisper, some nights I only thought them, just to not wake her or because I was falling asleep. These were prayers, never meant for her to hear. But here she was, repeating each one back to me— even down to the ‘daughter,’ as if she had absorbed my devotion into her bones and was now returning it from a place deeper than memory,” Mai continued in the caption.
Mai explained that in that moment, Monaco “mothered” her “back.”
“Last night, love traveled the circle it needed to finish… somehow, my daughter knew the language my younger self still waited to hear. Maybe this is what healing really is: not erasing what happened,
but letting love arrive through the very child who inherited your courage to keep going🙏🏽 So..pray over your babies when they sleep. They. Are. Listening,” Mai concluded.
