Although it’s only been a few days since the official announcement, fans are still processing the happy news that Jeezy and Jeannie Mai are engaged to be married. Well, a little over 24 hours later and Jeezy has finally publicly commented on the surprise proposal in a new Instagram post.
As we previously reported, Jeezy was apparently planning to propose to Jeannie this month during their scheduled trip to Vietnam, which got cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak. So, to accommodate the change of plans, Jeezy decided to surprise Jeannie with a quarantine date night at his home in Los Angeles, where he proceeded to pop the question.
Jeannie’s rep told “PEOPLE” about the engagement, saying:
“Jeannie and Jay were set for a trip to Vietnam this April. What Jeannie didn’t know is that Jay was planning to propose. Instead, Jay decided to bring Vietnam to Jeannie with a surprise quarantine date night in his home filled with Vietnamese food and decor.”
Fast forward to the present and Jeezy has made his engagement Instagram official, writing the following message underneath a photo of the happy couple:
“Would say 4 life but that’s not long enough. Infinity…”

Jeezy and Jeannie started dating last year following rumors that they were a couple, which were finally confirmed by Jeannie on her daytime talk show “The Real.” The show is also reportedly about to begin filming virtual episodes, so it’s highly likely that Jeannie will comment on her new fiancé.
