Jemele Hill Suspended By ESPN Over Series Of Tweets Addressing NFL Protests

#ESPN SportsCenter host #JemeleHill has been suspended for two weeks following a series of tweets she posted yesterday addressing NFL players kneeling during the national anthem.

#Roommates, if you remember a month ago Jemele caught some heat for calling #Donnie a white supremacist, sparking outrage at the network and compromising her job. Though she weathered that storm, she recently took to Twitter to address another hot button issue… the NFL protests.

In her tweets, she responded to Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ statements saying he would bench any players who “disrespect the flag.” She went on to tweet, “Jerry Jones also has created a problem for his players, specifically the black ones. If they don’t kneel, some will see them as sell outs.” When asked by a Twitter follower if she sees the players as sellouts, she elaborated saying, “No. Jerry [Jones] has turned this into them choosing football over the community they represent and that isn’t right.”

ESPN has since confirmed the suspension and said Hill was suspended for “a second violation of our social media guidelines.”
