Roommates, while we’ve been trying to figure out what to do during this quarantine, it looks like Jennifer Lopez and her mans Alex Rodriguez have COINS on their minds. According to Variety, the lovebirds are reportedly in early negotiations to buy a whole baseball team.
As we all know, Alex Rodriguez is a familiar face on the baseball field, playing 22 season in the MLB and retiring as a New York Yankee. But what many people don’t know is J.Lo is actually very familiar with owning sports teams. She’s actually part of an ownership group for the NFL team, Miami Dolphins (aka she’s not new to this, she’s true to this).
Now let’s get to the good stuff, the coins! According to variety, both Jennifer and A-Rod have reportedly retained JPMorgan Chase to help raise capital for a potential bid on the New York Mets. They’re reportedly working very closely with the banks co-head of North American media investment banking and are apparently very serious about making an offer.
For sports fans, the news may be a bit surprising given Alex’s history with the Yankees. If you didn’t know, for most sports teams in the same city a rivalry usually follows. Kind of like the Lakers and the Clippers, or the Knicks and the Nets. J.Lo has also been very public about being a New York Yankee’s fan, publicly admitting in the past that since she’s from the Bronx, being a Yankee fan just comes second nature. But listen, when coins are involved fan or not, you do what you got to do, okay! Variety reports the power couple’s net wroth is around a cool $700 million.
