Singer Clears The Air About Her “Fling…Promise Ring” Lyrics

After the talks involving Big Sean spread to Threads, Jhen Aiko stepped in to clear the air about what inspired her. A Threads user posted that the song ‘He Belongs’ is about Aiko catching her ex-boyfriend cheating. The lyrics they singled out included, “Can’t turn a fling into a real thing…Can’t turn a promise into a wedding ring…Can’t turn a h*e into a husband.”Ultimately, she responded to the post, writing: “Song is not about him.”
