TSR Politics: Potentially presidential nominee Joe Biden is not being coy about who he would like to have as his running mate during the presidential race. In a new interview, he says he would have no hesitation picking our Forever First Lady Michelle Obama to sit in that VP spot.
“I’d take her in a heartbeat,” Biden tells Pittsburgh’s KDKA. “She’s brilliant. She knows the way around. She really is a fine woman. The Obamas are great friends.”
And while he would be excited to have her, Biden says he isn’t sure that she would be interested in the position.
“I don’t think she has any desire to live near the White House again,” he said.
Joe says he is currently in the process of decided who he will have by his side, and reinforces the idea of choosing a woman. He emphasizes the importance of having a woman in such a powerful seat in government.
“I’ll commit to that [it will] be a woman because it is very important that my administration look like the public, like the nation.” he says. “And there will be, committed that there will be a woman of color on the Supreme Court, that doesn’t mean there won’t be a Vice President as well.”
Several names have been thrown around as potential running mates for Joe, including some of his former primary opponents, who have seat. Just last week, Sen. Elizabeth Warren said that she would accept the position if Biden asked her to be Vice President. Sen. Kamala Harris also said she would be “honored” to be considered.
