Judge Declines To Give $100,000 Back To The Woman Who Posted Bail For R. Kelly Earlier This Year

Remember back in February when a woman posted bail for R. Kelly? Well, it looks like the lady had requested to have that money returned to her, but a judge declined that motion.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the judge rejected the bid by Valencia Love for the return of the $100,000 she spent to help R. Kelly get out of jail earlier this year. If you all recall, she called herself a friend of R. Kelly.

The judge reportedly said she had no legal basis to ask for the return of her bail money. Her attorney reportedly argued it made no sense for that money to sit “in deposit” if R. Kelly is being held without bond in the two federal cases.

Attorney John Collins said in a motion that Valencia was “unaware of any additional ongoing investigations” during the time she posted the bond, and now she is worried because she is “in jeopardy of losing that money.”

After court, John Collins reportedly claims that Valencia also paid about $50,000 in back child support for R.Kelly back in March when he was locked up for that debt. He said that Valencia agreed to help out R. Kelly, with an understanding that he would repay her.

“She’s a small business owner, and now she’s out of money,” said Collins.

Also during the court appearance, the judge also declined to increase the $1 million bond for R. Kelly on his pending sex abuse cases.
