Jussie Smollett Indicted Once Again In Connection With Alleged 2019 Attack In Chicago

Whew chile, here we go again! Just when you thought things had settled down and all parties involved had moved on, it has just been announced, that for the second time, former “Empire” star Jussie Smollett has been indicted in connection with his highly publicized alleged 2019 attack.

Despite all charges against him being previously dropped, Jussie Smollett is once again in the hot seat and facing legal consequences following the 2019 alleged attack against him that occurred in Chicago while he was still filming the FOX hit series “Empire.”

Chicago’s Cook County Clerk’s Office confirmed to media outlets that special prosecutor Dan Webb was successful in his attempt to indict Jussie in connection with the alleged attack that happened in Streeterville back in January 2019..

Following the new indictment, Webb released a statement, detailing that a Cook County grand jury returned a six-count indictment against Jussie, ultimately charging him with making four false reports to Chicago police “related to his false claims that he was the victim of a hate crime, knowing he was not the victim of a crime.”

If that wasn’t enough, Webb also stated that he has met with Jussie’s attorneys to have him voluntarily turn himself in for his arraignment, which is set for February 24th at 9:30 AM.

All charges against Smollett were dropped in late February 2019 in exchange for community service and forfeiture of his $10,000 bond payment. This outcome was before Webb was appointed as special prosecutor to review the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office’s decision.
