Kanye Once Again Goes Off On Adidas, Swizz Beatz Calls For Boycott

Kanye West Says Adidas “Don’t Want No Smoke,” Swizz Beatz Calls For Boycott Of Sporting Outfitter

Kanye West is once again going off on Adidas with posts so vitriolic that Instagram was forced to flag them, saying the sporting outfitter “doesn’t want any smoke” as he continues his social media campaign against them, with Swizz Beatz calling for a boycott against the clothing company.

The posts come as Ye continues his campaign against the brand.

This week, West posted a series of pictures of members of Adidas’s supervisory board, and singled out Adidas senior vice president and general manager Daniel Cherry in multiple posts.

Ye also re-posted pictures of the board with captions like “love and blessings should be noooo reason to take this off my page,” after saying the company offered him a $1 billion buyout from his Yeezy venture.

The 45-year-old said “Adidas don’t want no more smoke. The movie credits are rolling,” before adding “this war wasn’t about money, it was about control…”

“I could hear the joy in my teams voices today,” West wrote. “Adidas don’t want no more smoke. The movie credits are rolling. This war wasn’t about money. It was about control of our families, of our business, of our story. I gave them the opportunity to settle this quietly. Now it’s time for Gap : )”

He ended the post with “now it’s time for Gap” followed by a smiley face, hinting at leaving Adidas for his ongoing efforts at continued collaboration with Gap.

He followed that post up with a screenshot that read “dear Ye, your legal team recommends that we refrain from posting anything on Gap for another 10 days.”

West also posted screenshots of what appeared to be messages from Instagram, which notified him that his posts had been flagged, however many of the posts were still on his profile as of Tuesday.

West and Adidas first began their business relationship with a shoe collaboration back in 2015, and formalized more extensive dealings between the two a year later.

However, drama between the two parties has erupted in recent years, most of which has played out in the public eye on social media.

Swizz Beatz Calls For Boycott Of Adidas In Solidarity With Frequent Collaborator Kanye West

Swizz Beatz, a frequent collaborator of West, went so far as to call for a boycott against Adidas in solidarity with Ye, saying “this is DEAD WRONG. If we let them do this to @kanyewest it will happen to us also!”

Swizz captioned the post of a pair of fugazi black and orange Yeezys, “I usually mind my business but this is DEAD WRONG! If we let them do this to @kanyewest it will happen to us also! This man created this groundbreaking innovation and it should be respected as a creative!”

Kanye West And Adidas: A History Of Friction Between The Two

Last month, The Shade Room reported that Ye put Adidas on blast when he accused them of carrying out Yeezy Day without his approval.

For the last few years, Adidas has designated a day to re-release a host of Yeezy sneakers. This year, Yeezy Day took place on August 1st and 2nd, and Ye is alleging that the brand created the day without his permission, according to Complex.

Complex reports that Kanye sent the publication a direct message on Instagram expressing his grievances with the Adidas brand. In said message, not only did Ye slam Yeezy Day, he alleged that the company made hiring decisions without his knowledge and stole some of his designs for their own shoes.

The lengthy message continued to accuse the athletic brand using Ye’s ideas–including allegations aboit Adidas slowed down the production of his collab with Balenciaga and Gap. The message ended with a plea saying, “God step in.”

As we previously reported, Kanye put Adidas on blast back in June after the company released the images of its 2022 adilette slides. According to Ye, the slides resemble his famous Yeezy slides and he accused the three stripe brand of “blatant copying” in a post on Instagram.
