Kanye West Shows Up To Protest In His Chicago Hometown

Roommates, just as many were calling him out for not publicly speaking up about the current state of the country as it relates to protesting, following the murder of George Floyd—Kanye West has proved once again that he was making things happen behind the scenes. Following his multi-million donation to the cause, Kanye West recently showed up in his hometown of Chicago to protest with local residents.

Kanye West has been extremely vocal and outspoken regarding race his entire career, however those messages were quickly forgotten when he seemingly pledged his allegiance to Trump. Despite his past political beliefs (he hasn’t mentioned Trump in quite a while) Kanye stepped up a major way to show his support for the cause.

Going back to his beloved hometown of Chicago, Ye showed up to attend a peaceful #BlackLivesMatter protest in response to police brutality following the senseless murder of George Floyd at the hands of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. Wearing a black hoodie and matching black mask, it was obvious that Kanye was trying his best to blend into the crowd—but he was spotted and crowds began to gather around him.

As we previously reported, Ye has not only set up and fully paid for George Floyd’s daughter, Gianna Floyd’s college tuition, but he has also reportedly donated $2 million to the families and legal teams fighting for Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and Geroge Floyd.

In addition to the whopping donation, it’s being reported that Kanye has also been donating to several black-owned businesses in his hometown of Chicago.
