Kanye West Talks About His Thought Process, His Controversial Abortion Comments, What Inspired Him To Run For President And More In New Interview

Roommates, after it was initially announced earlier this month that Kanye West would be sitting down for a full-length interview with Joe Rogan on his podcast, fans were in a frenzy patiently waiting. Well, the interview has finally dropped and as with any Kanye interview session, it’s filled with highly quotable moments.

During a three-hour long interview with @JoeRogan on his popular Spotify podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Kanye West didn’t hold back and discussed many of his controversial moments and comments from 2020. From his initial decision to run for president and his jaw-dropping appearance in South Carolina for his campaign rally, to people assuming he’s crazy, Ye put it all on the table.

When Joe Rogan brought up to Kanye that many people write him off as crazy because they don’t understand his thought process, he broke down how he thinks:

“I think very three-dimensionally. I don’t think in the black and white lines that I’ve been programmed to think in and I think in full color. So, when I talk I have to describe a thought in five ways. You know, we enjoy food that has multiple seasoning in it, we enjoy music that has multiple instruments…so when I talk, it’s not a rant, it’s a symphony of ideas.”

When he was asked about his emotional breakdown in Charleston, South Carolina where he tearfully revealed that he and wife Kim Kardashian almost terminated her first pregnancy with daughter North West, Kanye said this:

“People saw this clip of me crying and some people didn’t know what I was crying about. But I was crying about that there was a possible chance… that Kim and I didn’t make the family that we have today. That’s my most ‘family friendly’ way to word that. And just, the idea of (abortion) just tears me up inside, that I was a part of a culture that promotes this kind of thing. One of the major statistics on the subject of life is that the greatest advocates for the ‘a-word’ are men between the ages of 31 and 37 and that’s how old I was. I felt like I was too busy. My dad felt like he was too busy for me and we have a culture of that.”

On how he got the idea to run for president, he explained the inspiration:

“It was something God put on my heart back in 2015. A few days before the MTV awards, it just hit me in the shower. And when I first thought of it I just started like laughing to myself and all this joy came over my body. Just through my soul and I just felt that energy I felt that spirit. I had different friends that were some people in the music industry, some people tech elites and they would really take it as a joke. They’re telling me all these reasons why I couldn’t run for President. […] One of my responses to one of the naysayers was ‘well I’ll definitely be a billionaire by that time’ and not that that’s a reason why someone should become President but it’s to say at that time I was around $50 million dollars in debt and I knew I would have the confidence to be able to turn that around.”
