Atlanta attorney, Kayla Bumpuswho rose to fame during the YSL RICO trialjust went public with her pregnancy with former client and ex-YSL co-defendant, Shannon Stillwell. After months of whispers, Bumpus seemingly made it official with cozy couple pics on social media. And, as expected, the internet is spiralingand we cant look away!
Since walking free in December, Shannon Stillwell and Kayla Bumpus have taken their love from low-key to main character energy. What started as soft-launch mini-golf dates and a gender reveal (its a boy!) has now turned into suspected engagement photo vibes. On August 15, Bumpus shared candid flicks, a baby registry link, and a caption saying: True Atlanta love story. One standout pic shows Kayla flashing a diamond ring alongside the caption: And if loving yu is a crime tell me y I bring out the best in yu. Whew! Its giving courtroom to couple goalswith a twist.
If Kayla Bumpus’ name rings a bell, its because she stayed in the mix during the longest criminal trial in Georgia history. A 2016 graduate of Atlantas John Marshall Law School, Bumpus was deep in the YSL RICO case from start to finish. During the trial, Bumpus reportedly filed court motions and secured key clients. Meanwhile, Shannon Stillwell was one of over two dozen associates indicted alongside Atlanta rapper, Young Thug (Jeffery Williams), in the sweeping YSL RICO case that rocked the city.
According to reports, she also briefly represented Lil Woody in an infamous ex parte meeting that led to Judge Glanville being removed from the case. And, later repped Deamonte Kendrick after he was attacked in jail. But, it wasnt all legal dramaone courtroom rumor even claimed she was married to Stillwell after a hallway blow-up with an investigator. Between that and her push to have the trial recorded, Bumpus wasnt just defending her clientshe was apparently living the headlines.
Social media doesn’t know what’s going on anymore and the reactions are all over the place. Folks rushed to Kaylas X account to drop their congrats on the baby news! Yes, some are saying theyre genuinely rooting for the couple. But others? Theyre straight-up flabbergasted, still trying to process how a courtroom connection turned into co-parenting goals.
