On this episode of ‘Stepping Into The Shade Room,’ Keke Palmer and Issa Rae sit down for a candid conversation and spill the tea on their days of being crazy in love, special friendship moments, and future collaborations. Additionally, the pair share why their film, ‘One Of Them Days’ is an absolute must-watch while speaking with host Thembi.

Keke Palmer & Issa Rae Speak On ‘One Of Them Days’ & Working With SZA

During the sitdown, Issa Rae and Keke Palmer explained the storyline behind ‘One Of Them Days.’ Per the actors, the film was inspired by the experiences of a friend of Syreeta Singleton. Furthermore, the film largely centers on the effects of gentrification. But focuses on two friends played by Keke Palmer and SZA who are “trying to make ends meet.”

While speaking, Palmer reflected on her chemistry with SZA and how that translated on-screen.

“I think maybe we just naturally have a similar vibe,” Palmer explained. “We first met in person on SNL [Saturday Night Live]… after that, we met on the movie and… we just had natural chemistry. I can’t even explain that.”

As for off-screen relationships, Palmer shared that her “craziest” moment of holding a friend down has been stepping to their partner and their partner’s mother. Rae, on the other hand, said she pretended to be a doctor to give a friend’s partner a lil’ medical scare.
