Marlon Wayans has come to Kelly Rowland‘s defense amid reports alleging she walked off the ‘TODAY’ set over a dressing room dispute. As previously reported, Rowland was booked as a guest on the morning show on Friday (February 16).
Marlon Defends Kelly Rowland’s Professionalism
Page Six first reported the alleged dressing room report that allegedly sparked Kelly’s walk-off. Rowland has not publicly addressed the situation as of yet. What’s more, the ‘TODAY’ show has also not said a word about the alleged incident. But the topic is still trending with all kinds of narratives!
Now, Marlon Wayans is addressing his top-tier experience working with Kelly in the past. He defended her professionalism and kindness.
Kelly and Marlon most recently starred in the 2022 movie ‘The Curse of Bridge Hollow.’ In an effort to clear the air, Wayans took to Instagram on Saturday (February 17), writing, “Yall stop with these false narratives. I’ve worked with @kellyrowland as a Star/producer I will honestly say she was nothing short of AMAZING.”
Additionally, the ‘Haunted House’ star continued discrediting the narrative spread about how Rowland acts on set.
“Sweet, kind, professional. On time, great energy, impeccable manners and professionalism. She was nice to EVERYONE on set. Not one diva moment. Sh** happens in Hollywood.”
Wayans ended his message by telling people to “get both sides” before they attack any other legends in the business. He made it clear that the controversy surrounding Rowland’s departure from the ‘TODAY’ set had clearly bothered him.
“Love this woman. Y’all stop the BS. This woman was nothing short of a humble loving queen… PERIOD.”
Rowland Was Expected To Co-Host
Page Six reports that Kelly was initially scheduled for the 8 am slot. However, producers then approached her to replace Jenna Bush Hager for the 10 am slot to co-host ‘TODAY with Hoda & Jenna.’
The ‘Motivation’ singer then reportedly requested to have her dressing room upgraded to a bigger one.
Sources say Rowland was informed that Jennifer Lopez, who was also there to promote her new album ‘This Is Me… Now,’ had already occupied the room.
Page Six claims that the producers’ failure to provide a bigger dressing room for the ‘Lay It On Me’ artist left her dissatisfied and subsequently prompted her to leave the set.

Rowland’s exit led to Rita Ora filling in at the last minute, which Rita seemingly confirmed in a post shared on her Instagram.
