Kevin Gates has continued to spark reactions online after saying Desmond Scott was “suffering in silence” during his marriage to Kristy Scott.
On Wednesday, January 28, a new episode of ‘Club Shay Shay’ was released via YouTube, featuring Kevin Gates as a guest. Around an hour and thirty-six minutes into the interview, host Shannon Sharpe asked Gates what made him send support to Desmond Scott amid the news of his divorce. Gates explained that he “doesn’t like to see people get kicked while they’re down.”
“He wasn’t happy. He went and made himself happy… Everybody’s like, ‘He’s so wrong!’ No, he’s so wrong! ‘Look what you made me do,'” he said, laughing.
When Sharpe disagreed with his statement, Gates then asked, “So why did he do it?”
“He was suffering in silence. It was all over his face,” Gates continued. “He was suffering in silence. A lot of men suffer in silence. He was just making himself happy.”

This isn’t the first time Kevin Gates has spoken about Desmond Scott’s marriage to Kristy Scott. As The Shade Room previously reported, earlier this month, Kevin Gates weighed in amid Desmond Scott receiving backlash for being recorded kissing another woman weeks after Kristy Scott filed for divorce. Gates bigged Desmond up, taking to the internet to tell him, “Theres no woman that wouldnt want you. Use the hate that you receiving right now for motivation to propel you forward…”
Furthermore, Gates’ comments arrived months after Dreka Gates filed for divorce from him after nine years. As The Shade Room previously reported, Dreka made the filing in July. Then, in October, it was revealed that Dreka was seeking over $70,000 in monthly support from Kevin. Additionally, it was reported that she accused Kevin of failing to pay property taxes and their kids’ tuition.
Ultimately, Kevin Gates accused Dreka of stealing money from him and only filing for divorce after he refused to continue giving her money.
Then, Kevin went on to upgrade Jelenny Tejada his new wife’s wedding ring.
