Dreka Gates is reportedly seeking $70,000 in monthly support after filing for divorce from Kevin Gates in July.
On Wednesday, October 22, TMZ published a report asserting that court documents filed by Dreka state that Kevin “dismantle[d] the financial foundation of their family” in late 2021. At the time, Kevin allegedly “stopped paying for basic family obligations such as property taxes and their children’s private school tuition.”
Additionally, Dreka’s filing states that Kevin “flaunted his wealth.” Specifically, by allegedly purchasing “18 luxury vehicles and a $4.7 million estate in Calabasas.” Now, per the documents, Kevin and Dreka’s Mississippi farm is in foreclosure due to a levy placed by the IRS for $7 million in missed property taxes.
Dreka is reportedly asking the court to order Kevin to pay “$27,193 per month in child support” and “$46,274 per month in spousal support.” In addition, she is reportedly asking for primary physical custody of their children, “at least temporarily.” This, because Dreka alleges that 95% of their children’s time has been spent with him for the past two years.
In response, Kevin has reportedly called Dreka’s claims “factually baseless,” noting that he and Dreka were never “legally married.” Per the outlet, the pair only “got hitched” in October 2015.
At this time, Kevin Gates has not publicly reacted to the update regarding his estranged wife and their divorce. Nonetheless, social media users slid into TSR’s comment section with thoughts.
As The Shade Room previously reported, in July, Dreka Gates made headlines when reports surfaced alleging she had filed for divorce from Kevin Gates. At the time, Dreka reportedly cited “irreconcilable divorces” and revealed that she and Kevin had officially separated on July 10. Additionally, it was reported that Dreka was initially seeking joint physical and legal custody of her and Kevin’s 12-year-old and 11-year-old. Lastly, reports added that Dreka was seeking spousal support but was reportedly asking the court to block Kevin from receiving any.
