TikTok trends have done a lot for music in the two years that we’ve been in a pandemic, including giving new life to some of our favorite throwbacks. That’s exactly what happened for Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘N Nite” after TikTok users began using his song for a brand new wave of videos.
Unfortunately for them, Cudi does not seem to be fan of the videos, and took to Twitter to express his frustration with users removing the lyrics from the song.
“I don’t f*ck with what they did to my song on TikTok takin out the lyrics. We live in a strange time. I’m not flattered,” he tweeted.

Users have been using the “Now look at this” line of the song, and then proceeding to show a funny or interesting video without anymore lyrics of the song playing in the background. As the instrumental plays, so does the video of choice.
A fan on Twitter even replied to Cudi, saying the situation wasn’t that deep, and he doubled down on not being a fan of the trend.
“I don’t think I’m makin it ‘deep’ by tweeting how I feel,” he wrote. “Now if I was ranting that’s another thing. Nothing wrong w me stating I don’t approve, plus if u are such a fan, u know my lyrics are most important to me. I’m passionate about my sh*t so idc who has a problem w that.”
