Kim Kardashian is always ready to speak her mind, and this time, shes taking aim at Trumps ICE raids. At the DVF Awards in Venice, Kim didnt hold back, calling out the raids for targeting innocent immigrants. But, of course, Homeland Security wasnt about to let that slide and hit her with a full-on clap back. As the political back-and-forth intensifies, its clear this isnt the last well hear of Kims fight.
On Thursday, August 28, Kardashian expressed her concern about the ICE raids during a speech at the DVF Awards. While being honored for her work on prison reform, Kim addressed how the media is apparently using the raids as a way to protect the country. However, Kim believes the reality is far from that.
In her speech, Kim Kardashian reportedly said:
In the news you hear, ‘Oh, its about people who have committed these crimes and theyre trying to help out our country,’ according to Variety. But then you hear about all of the people who have worked so hard to build our country, and so many people that are such a part of our country getting affected. People I know. People my friends know.
Her comments didnt sit well with everyone, especially with Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. In a response shared with TMZ, McLaughlin slammed Kardashian, calling her “misinformed” and “detached” from the realities of the operations. McLaughlin went on to defend the ICE raids, stating that they targeted violent criminals, including murderers, rapists, gang members, and child predators.
Why does Ms. Kardashian continue to do the bidding of criminals at the expense of innocent Americans and brave law enforcement? McLaughlin fired back.
In her stunning off-white gown that hugged every curve, Kim didnt just serve looksshe also highlighted the need for change in the prison system, something shes been working tirelessly on. This comes just as fans eagerly await the results of Kims California Bar exam after she bravely took it again, following a series of setbacks with the baby bar. Whether shes advocating for policy change or proving her own resilience, Kims commitment to justice is clear, and shes not backing down.
