Roommates, Kim Kardashian is using her considerable wealth and influence to help her home country of Armenia. According to reports, Kim just donated $1 million to help support the Armenia Fund, which aims to raise money for aid to help innocent people on the ground who are caught in the middle of the recent escalation in the country.
Kim Kardashian’s $1 million combined with other donations will ensure that all funds raised for Armenia go directly to people in need of food, shelter, medical attention and other resources that are currently in short supply.
Additionally, Kim’s sibling also opened up their wallets to support the worthy cause. Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and Rob Kardashian also donated to the Armenia Fund. In case you’re unaware of what’s happening, Armenia’s decades-long dispute with neighboring Azerbaijan over a mountainous territory in between both countries has recently reignited. The conflict dates back to the ’80s, and until this past summer there had been a ceasefire over the region.
Things escalated and tense further increased back in July, when there were accusations of both Armenia and Azerbaijan firing weapons  upon the other—-and now, armed forces have been mobilized and tensions are running high.
Meanwhile, other neighboring nations have gotten involved in the conflict as well, including Turkey and Russia, with Turkey siding with Azerbaijan, and Russia lending its full support behind Armenia. Kim Kardashian and her siblings obviously are supporting Armenia since they are all of Armenian descent.
