Cameras caught up with Mychal Thompson, father of two-time NBA champion Klay Thompson, and he couldn’t stop raving about Megan Thee Stallion — calling her a “very nice lady” and giving her cooking skills a glowing seal of approval. When asked about her signature dish, Mychal didn’t hesitate: her barbecue baked beans are, in his words, “the best I ever had in my life.” So, he is clearly serious about her kitchen game and even said, “Nobody could ever cook as good as my mother, but man, Megan is a chef,” he added.
Of course, fans immediately wondered if this parental praise could foreshadow a proposal. She explains that Mychal was in town while Klay’s Dallas Mavericks were playing the LA Lakers, and since she was caught off guard by the visit, she wanted to show some serious Southern hospitality—cooking up chicken thighs, her famous baked beans, potato salad, and cornbread.
Klay even makes a cameo, giving Megan some love, before Mychal tries her boudin for the first time and showers her with praise, even joking that she should “retire” and open a cooking school.
